Hello! Great readers, authors and students today we have an exclusive interview with Ufuoma Ashogbon. We welcome you to another great interview with some top-rated authors in the self-publishing & the traditional publishing industry. Today’s interview promises to be fun packed and enlightening. Please, do stick around and we hope you learn a lot!

Introduce yourself, who are you?

Hi, I am Ufuomaee, a Christ-centred writer, blogger, and author.  I also provide web services and book publishing support to authors via Ufuomaee Business Solutions.  I tell stories to help young people make the right choice before marriage and deal with challenges that often arise during and after.

What genre of books have you written? Or how many books have you written?

Ufuoma Ashogbon writes fiction and non-fiction books with the central scope being faith-motivated.  So far, I have 24 ebook titles.  Ten of these are my collections of articles, poems, and short stories originally published on my blog, www.ufuomaee.blog.

To you, what is the best book you’ve written so far?

That is really hard to say.  First to decide, then to admit.  I’d like to think my latest is my best, but I still have a sweet spot for The Church Girl, the first I published and promoted.

What’s the best book your audience has read so far?

Again, hard to decide.  Most people really loved The Church Girl, Perfect Love, and The Naïve Wife series, my latest.   But the most widely read book is Broken, because it’s free, and I still get people writing to me to tell me how much they loved it.

What is the most complex book you’ve authored so far?

That would be my seasonal series, A Small World, which carries on the stories of my first three books; The Church Girl, An Emotional Affair, and Broken.  With every season, it gets more complex, especially as I keep introducing new characters.  When I wrote Season Two, I have to come up with character cards, just so I could remember facts about my characters, and keep the story consistent.

Book Description

Three months after making her choice between Ejike, Doug, and Dongjap, Rachel dusts off her diary… They are expecting a baby, but her marriage is not what she anticipated it would be. But that’s just normal, right? Nothing real faith and fervent prayer can’t handle… But as the years go by, Rachel wonders, maybe she’s been looking at things all wrong. Maybe it’s not too late to make a different choice… Rachel’s Diary is the second volume of The Naive Wife trilogy on love, marriage, and faith. It is an entertaining and eye-opening read for singles and married folks alike.

Describe your journey as a writer in a few sentences.

It has been long and tough, lonely and challenging.  As a Blogger, I had an active blog, and I grew my audience through the stories I started sharing freely.  I imagined that once I published them into books, my followers would continue in their support, but it was a different reality.  I’ve since learnt to change my expectations and keep doing what I do because it’s my passion, and soon, I will reap the reward of faithfulness.

What role does self-publishing have in your writing career?

A massive one!  All my books are self-published, and I’ve become quite an expert with self-publishing.  That’s how I’m able to provide services to other authors eager to get published.

What problems did you experience while writing?

They say, you can only give what you have…  Well, I write a lot about love, marriage, and faith.  It has been challenging for me to write about couples with a different experience to mine, just so I can impart lessons to the youth seeking to marry, and those already married.

What is your advice to aspiring writers?

Speak from your heart…  Your readers and customers will be those who connect with you on that deeper level.
